How we approach a repair

1. Find the cause. A leaning run usually means a post or a brace failed, not that the boards are heavy. We look at the posts, the footing and the ground before quoting a fix.
2. Price the fix honestly. If a section is worth repairing, we say so and price the repair. If the posts are gone along a whole run, we price a rebuild of that run and explain why.
3. Match the fence. Same picket style, height, rail layout, wire type or panel; same coated hardware.
4. Build the repair to the same standard as new. New posts go into concrete at full depth. A repaired gate gets a brace. A re-stretched wire run gets a rebuilt corner.
5. Leave it clean, with the old material hauled off unless you want it.

Catching problems early

Walk your fence twice a year, after storm season and before winter. Push on posts, look at the ground line, check the gates and look for wire that has gone slack or rubbed.
