What this website collects, what we do with it, and how to reach us about it. Written in plain language because that is how we talk.
This policy covers the website at https://livingstonfence.com, operated by Texas Rural Fence, Inc., 215 FM 356, Onalaska, TX 77360. It describes what the site actually does. If we change what the site does, we will change this page and the date above.
What we collect
Through the estimate request form: your name, phone number, email address, the kind of work you selected, and any project details you type. You choose what to put in the details box.
Automatically, when the form is sent: your IP address, the address of the page the form was on, your browser's identifying string (user agent), the date and time, and a record of the consent statement shown above the Send button. These are kept so we can tell real requests from spam, keep a record of what you agreed to, and reach you about your request.
Spam prevention: the site counts form submissions by a one-way hashed form of the sending IP address for a day, to limit abuse. A hashed address is not anonymous, but it is not stored with your name; the plain IP address is kept only in the lead record described above.
Server logs: like nearly every website, the hosting server keeps standard access logs that include IP addresses, pages requested and browser information. Our hosting provider keeps those logs under its own retention schedule.
How we use it
To respond to your request, set up an estimate, and do the work you asked about. Your request is delivered by email to the company's lead-handling mailboxes and kept in a lead record on the web server. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone outside the company except the service providers that host this site and deliver its email.
How long we keep it
Lead records, including the consent record, are kept as business records so we can show what you asked for and what you agreed to. If you want your request deleted, contact us at the phone number or address below and we will remove it unless we are required to keep it.
Cookies and analytics
Session cookie: the site sets one short-lived cookie, only on the estimate form page and the thank-you page, to make sure a form submission came from a real visit to the form. It expires when you close your browser and is not used for tracking.
Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit and how they arrived. It loads after you first interact with a page (scroll, tap or key press), sets its own cookies, and reports usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device type to Google under Google's privacy policy. It does not receive the contents of the estimate form. When a request is sent successfully, a single "lead" event is recorded without any of your personal details.
You can block cookies and analytics in your browser settings or with a content blocker; the site works without them.
Third-party links
This site links to our Facebook and Yelp profiles and to Google's policies. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are checked against spam and abuse before they are recorded. Lead records are stored in a folder that is not reachable from the web.
Children
This site is for property owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your options
You can request a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can tell us to stop contacting you at any time, by phone, by replying to an email, or by telling the person who calls. We honor those requests promptly.
