Black ornamental steel fence in front of a home

Huntsville is the Walker County seat and the largest town we serve, on I-45 about 30 miles west of our shop by way of US-190. It is a different kind of place from the lake towns: a university town with established neighborhoods and new subdivisions, a commercial strip along the interstate, and pasture and timber on the county roads east and south toward the lake. We serve Huntsville regularly, and the fence work there runs from in-town privacy and ornamental fence to ranch fence on acreage.

Residential fence in Huntsville

Subdivision lots in Huntsville want six-foot privacy fence across the back and sides, and the newer neighborhoods often call for ornamental steel or aluminum out front. Horizontal wood fence has become a popular look on newer homes. Many neighborhoods have HOA rules on height, style and placement, and we build to them. Chain link for dog yards and rentals, and walk gates that latch, round it out.

Acreage east and south of town

Out the county roads toward Dodge, Oakhurst and the lake, Walker County is cattle pasture, hay and timber. Barbed wire and field fence on braced corners, cattle panels and corrals at the barn, cross buck and horse fence on the horse properties, and driveway gates with openers on the long drives.

Commercial and institutional

Businesses along the interstate and in town, churches, and storage and equipment yards need chain link perimeters, dumpster enclosures, ornamental frontage and security gates. See commercial fencing.

Scheduling the drive

Because Huntsville is at the edge of our regular range, we group Huntsville work and schedule it in full days. That does not change the price for most jobs; for a very small repair we will tell you honestly whether the trip makes sense or whether it is better combined with something else. Everything else, from the free on-site estimate to the written price, works the same as it does across the lake.

Nearby

New Waverly is south on I-45; Oakhurst and Dodge are back east on US-190 toward the lake.

Before we come out

In Huntsville the first question is the neighborhood: does it have an HOA, and what are the fence rules? Many newer subdivisions specify style, height and even color for a front-yard fence, and knowing that first saves a redesign. Then the pins, the dog, and the gates. On acreage east of town, the questions are the animals, the line and the old fence. If you have the covenants, send them with the estimate request.

Pools and the code

Huntsville subdivisions have more pools than the lake towns, and a pool fence has to meet a barrier code: height, picket spacing, and a self-closing, self-latching gate with the latch mounted high. Ornamental steel and aluminum are built for it, and chain link with the right mesh qualifies too. We confirm the requirement for your property and build the fence and the gate to it.

Rental and student properties

Huntsville has a lot of rental houses, and the fences on them have to be low-maintenance and hard to break: chain link for yards, heavy latches on gates, and nothing that needs staining every two years. We build for landlords regularly and will suggest the fence that survives a tenant turnover.

Yes. Many Huntsville neighborhoods have rules on fence height, style and placement, and we build to them. Bring the covenants to the estimate or we will ask.
