Lake Livingston Pressure Treated Fencing

Dog Eared Pressure Treated Fence

The most commonly built privacy fence in or around Lake Livingston is a treated dog-eared picket privacy fence. This is a common fence that is built around Lake Livingston. If you like we can customize this fence for you. Dog-ear pickets are available in pressure treated pine or natural cedar wood.

Treated Wood Fence & Rot Board

There are a few elements that make a well built quality pressure treated privacy fence. The first thing to consider when building a wood fence is how it is treated. When choosing post to set into the ground, they must be pressure treated and rated for ground contact. Having a dedicated bottom board or a rot board to lift the pickets up is suggested. The number of horizontal rails not including the rot board should be half of the overall fence height.

Treated Post & Frame Picket Fence

We use pressure treated post rated for ground contact. On fences where we include a rot board we use a pressure treated 2x6 piece of lumber. For the horizontal rails we use 2x4 pine pressure treated lumber. The horizontal rails are attached on edge for added strength to keep them from sagging. When attaching pressure treated wood we use hot dipped galvanized nails or screws; or we use stainless steel fasteners.
